Hi! I'm Njara, the founder and owner of Vanilla Beans Store. Originally from Madagascar – the world's vanilla heartland – I never imagined launching a business here in the UAE. But life has a way of surprising you with the perfect opportunity.

OUR STORY

Seven years ago, my family and I arrived in the UAE. With my background in HR, I was still figuring out my next chapter, unsure of what direction to take. Then, unexpectedly, it all clicked during a routine supermarket trip. I bought a vanilla pod and was shocked by its poor quality – dry, flavorless, and worlds away from the vibrant beans I grew up with back home. That's when I realized there was a huge gap in the market for premium, authentic vanilla. Drawing on my Malagasy heritage and passion for quality spices, I launched Vanilla Beans Store in 2021 to fill that void. We've since collaborated with ethical farmers in Madagascar for sustainable sourcing.

At Vanilla Beans Store, we believe that premium quality is achieved when tradition meets precision. My name is Geerish and I'm from Mauritius. I lead our technical operations, applying my expertise in software infrastructure, analytical systems, and mechanical engineering to keep our business agile and scalable.

Our greatest strength lies in our unique bi-cultural heritage. As life and business partners, we built together a bridge between Madagascar’s rich, artisanal vanilla traditions with Mauritius’s spirit of innovation and with that we brought a distinct perspective to the industry. We are constantly refining the mechanics of our vanilla extraction processes to ensure maximum potency. By blending technical rigor with a deep respect for our ethical sourcing mission, We ensure our operations are as efficient as they are authentic. I don't just solve technical challenges; I also build the infrastructure that allows us to share the world’s finest vanilla with a large audience, modernizing the way we produce and enjoy this incredible spice.

What do we do

We specialize in premium vanilla products sourced exclusively from Madagascar: whole vanilla beans, pure pastes, potent extracts, powders, and infused sugars. Whether you're a professional chef crafting savory masterpieces or a home baker whipping up sweet treats, our range elevates every dish with that signature warm, floral depth. We focus on sustainability, supporting small-scale farmers and avoiding artificial additives – because real flavor shouldn't come at the planet's expense.

At Vanilla Beans Store, we're on a mission to redefine vanilla beyond desserts, inspiring bold uses in savory recipes and everyday cooking. We're always expanding, from pop-up markets to online orders or dealing with businesses like us to make premium vanilla accessible and exciting for all.

What began as a personal quest to source authentic, sustainable beans has grown into a thriving specialty shop, partnering with ethical farmers to ensure every pod is plump, aromatic, and ethically harvested. Today, we're proud to partner with spots like Growhouse by One Life or like Scoop Whole Foods Dubai, where our products have been delighting customers across Dubai for a little while now. This is just the beginning of an incredible Journey! 

Why MADAGASCAR?...        

 

Madagascar is the main vanilla producer in the world with more than 30,000 hectares of plantations on the island. Discover this sweet and captivating spice cultivated with passion by the local producers with whom we are working with. It's in the region of SAVA, in the northeast of the island that you will appreciate large areas of vanilla plantations. Our Vanilla is precisely from two Regions of Madagascar: Mananara and Sambava (Called the Vanilla's Capital).  We are exclusively selling A grade Madagascan Vanilla (Bourbon Planifolia and also the Tahitensis variety grown recently on the Island), Non Alcoholic Vanilla Paste and Non Alcoholic Vanilla Extract.   

     

But what is Vanilla?    

Madagascan, Mexican, Tahitian, Indonesian and Ugandan vanilla are the main varieties used today. The term "Bourbon vanilla" refers to the Vanilla beans provenance as being from the Bourbon Islands, most commonly Madagascar but also Mauritius and Reunion. The name comes from the period when the island of Reunion was ruled by the "Bourbon kings"of France and has no relation to Bourbon Whiskey
